Nintendo has just revealed their latest trailer for Mario Strikers Battle League, their latest entry in the Mario Strikers series for Nintendo Switch. Pushing the series into new heights, the gameplay for Mario Strikers Battle League is more chaotic and cutthroat than ever before, as players can tackle opponents, use items to cause hazards on the pitch, and even grab the ball with their hands (while playing as a non-goalie), further cementing itself as the most extreme soccer video game out there.
In the new overview trailer, players will learn the game's simple rules: Get the ball into your opponent's goal by any means necessary. There are no fouls in Mario Strikers, so feel free to tackle your opponents to steal the ball, push them into the walls, or trip them over with banana peels. Anything goes. You can even tackle your own teammates to push and shunt them forward, causing them also to attack enemies in front of them. Even street soccer doesn't allow players to do that.
One of the biggest additions in Mario Strikers is the new power move called “hyper strike”, allowing players to charge and perform an earth-shattering kick that will split the goalie net in two. Each hyper strike has a different visual effect, such as Luigi's tornado, or Peach's love strike. Each hyper strike can score two points, so they can easily be used to turn the tide of a match.

Lastly, the new trailer showcases various online features such as “striker clubs”, allowing players to join an online club with up to 20 players and compete against other clubs in online matches. The game showcases a series commitment to competitive play as rankings will be available in various serious, and competitive withing each season will determine your club's rank, so players are encouraged to compete for as much as possible and aim for the highest rank in the mushroom kingdom.
