Misfits Gaming (MSF) will be banking on some rookie firepower in the 2022 LEC season, fielding the league's youngest roster for next year. The org has brought onboard four new faces to the main roster, including jungler Lucjan “Shlatan” Ahmad from the academy squad. The lineup has an average age of 20.6 years, but that doesn't mean they'll be going in without experience. Fans will be happy to see some familiar faces from around the European pro scene, bringing a fresh look to MSF, a desire to prove themselves, and high potential.

For starters, Misfits has kept promising mid laner Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié in the lineup. At just 19 years old, he is already turning heads as one to watch for years to come. In the 2021 Summer Split, he racked up the most kills and had the highest KDA out of all mid laners in the league. It wasn't just individual brilliance, either. Vethero actively roamed around the map and turned the tide in teamfights, averaging an impressive 72 percent kill participation.

As for the other solo lane, MSF has signed Shin “HiRit” Tae-min to a two-year contract extension. The Korean top laner's debut LEC showing got off to a respectable start. The 23-year-old dealt the most damage among all the top laners in the LEC regular season and recorded the second-highest KDA.

Despite being a new addition, another familiar face will fill out the AD carry position. After playing for Schalke 04, Slovakian bot laner Matúš “Neon” Jakubčík will continue his professional career with Misfits. Unfortunately, S04 had endured a disappointing 2021 campaign, finishing in last place in the Summer Split. Neon will be looking to redeem himself and help push his new team to a much better showing next year.

Meanwhile, MSF is giving rookies the opportunity to shine in the jungle and support positions. Shlatan will make the transition from Academy to main lineup. He's got big shoes to fill as he replaces star jungler Iván “Razork” Díaz, who had signed with Fnatic.

Pairing up with Neon, Mertai “Mersa” Sari has come over from the French league (LFL) to make his LEC debut. The 19-year-old Support player and his former team, GamersOrigin, placed 7th in the LFL last year. Now, Mersa will look to leave a more memorable mark in the LEC.

Fans are looking forward to seeing how this promising young Misfits Gaming roster stacks up against the rest of the league. It will be tough for sure, but an insightful experience nonetheless. If they gel well, who knows if we'll see the next stars in the making?
