Monark will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation 5 on February 22, 2022.

Monark is a new JRPG game that is created by former Shin Megami Tensei developers. The game's DNA manifests in the game's larger-than-life stakes, the world's safety in the hands of high schoolers, as well as how the protagonist's personality and relationships shape the world around him. Unlike Shin Megami Tensei games, though, Monark has a different way of implementing the usual JRPG formula.
Monark's gameplay consists of exploration and battles. Exploration has the player investigating the strange fog that has engulfed their school. The fog causes students to go mad, so it has become prohibited to explore areas overcome by fog. But the player has been chosen by one of the Monarks, allowing him to resist the fog's maddening call and save other students from danger.
In combat, Monark puts together classic JRPG menu-based combat with Valkyria Chronicles style tactics. Players and enemies spawn on a battlefield, moving within continuous ranges of distance. Closing in on an enemy puts you also within range of their attacks. Battles progress in turns, letting units with higher speed stats move first before others.
