The first half of the Genshin Impact 2.8 banners have been revealed, and it features the new 4 star character Shikanoin Heizou. Read along for the other featured 4 stars, as well as the 5 star and weapons you’ll have the chance to pull in the first few weeks of this patch.

Klee & Kaedehara Kazuha Character Banner

According to these official announcements, the “Sparkling Steps” and “Leaves in the Wind” Character Event Wishes will run at the same time. The featured 5 stars are “Fleeing Sunlight” Klee (5* Pyro Catalyst) and “Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves Kaedehara Kazuha (5* Anemo Sword) respectively.

The new 4 star character “Analytical Harmony” Shikanoin Heizou (4* Anemo Catalyst) is also featured in both Character Event Wishes, joined by “Eclipsing Star” Ningguang (4* Geo Catalyst) and “Protector From Afar” Thoma (4* Pyro Polearm).

Shikanoin Heizou is an interesting character, as despite his Catalyst weapon, his attacks are melee. He allows for a new flavor of playstyle, so if you're interested in new gameplay, he's a good pickup. As an Anemo character, Heizou is easy to fit in any party to fill the role of either a secondary damage dealer or as a support. To read more about Heizou, click here.

Ningguang has been in the game since release, and while her kit may seem outdated, she can still be a solid Geo damage dealer. She is a consistent character, and once fully built, can output great DPS, something that most of the Geo characters lack.

We last saw a Thoma banner February this year, and it's about time that the Inazuman Pyro Polearm character made a return. Thoma might not excel at anything in particular, but the protection he offers with the shield along with consistent Pyro application can be a niche trait you might want.

Genshin Impact 2.8 Banner: First Phase Weapon Event Wish

Alongside the Character Banner announcement, one for the Weapon Banner was also made. For the 5 stars, it will feature:

  • Freedom-Sworn (5* Sword)
  • Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds (5* Catalyst)

The banners featuring Klee, Kazuha, Freedom-Sworn, and Lost Prayer to the Sacred Wings will begin on July 13th, 2022 6:00 pm. These Genshin Impact 2.8 banners will end on August 2nd, 2022 5:59 pm (Server Time).
