The official College Football 25 Power Rankings released today, with Georgia, Ohio State, and Oregon leading the charge with the best overall ratings. We already had a feeling this would be the case, considering all three teams ranked highly when it comes to best offenses and defenses, along with toughest stadiums to play in. However, there's 22 other teams on this list that were also recognized as some of the best in the game. Therefore, we listed the official College Football 25 Power Rankings to help you identify the game's strongest schools.

College Football 25 Power Rankings – What Are The Best Schools In The Game?

The official College Football 25 Overall Power Rankings have been released, and the top 25 best teams in the game include:

25. Iowa – 87 OVR

24. Oklahoma State – 87 OVR

23. Arizona – 87 OVR

22. Kansas – 87 OVR

21. NC State – 87 OVR

20. Virginia Tech – 87 OVR

19. USC – 87 OVR

18. Washington – 87 OVR

17. Oklahoma – 87 OVR

16. Colorado – 87 OVR

15. Ole Miss – 88 OVR

14. Texas A&M – 88 OVR

13. Miami – 88 OVR

12. Florida State – 88 OVR

11. Michigan – 88 OVR

10. Utah – 88 OVR

Utah technically shares the same team overall as five teams above them (and 1 ahead). Nevertheless, EA Sports decided to include the Utes into the top 10 best ranked teams of the game. Personally, I am a bit curious as to how Utah surpassed Michigan, Ole Miss, and Florida State, but I digress. Overall, Utah ranks as the 10th best overall team in College Football 25.

9. Penn State – 88 OVR

Penn State does deserve a spot within the top 10 overall Power Rankings in College Football 25. But the team, as good as they are, need to find a way to win big games. They constantly struggle against Ohio State, and if not them, either Iowa, Michigan, or somebody else. The problem is that the team always performs well, only to lose that one game that kicks them out of playoff contention. Therefore, they'd be extremely fun to play with in Dynasty.

8. LSU – 90 OVR

The Tigers enter CFB 25 with the 6th best offense and 18th best defense in the game. Last year, the team went 10-3 before going on to win the Reliaquest Bowl against Wisconsin. While a great team, LSU struggled to defeat ranked teams, losing to teams like Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida. You can turn things around as a new player in RTG, or as a Coach in Dynasty.

7. Notre Dame – 90 OVR

The Fighting Irish won 10 games last year, including a dominant 48-20 victory over Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans. The school has the 17th best offense and 6th best defense in the game, making them a solid team to start a Dynasty with. Furthermore, the Notre Dame Stadium also ranks among the top 25 toughest places to play in the game.

6. Clemson – 90 OVR

Don't get me wrong, Clemson does have a great football program. However, being placed so high at #6 has us scratching our heads. However, the team did come back from a rough 4-4 start and won their last five in a row. That stretch included victories against ranked teams like Notre Dame and UNC. So while we don't believe they should be at #6, Clemson is still a solid team.

5. Texas – 92 OVR

Cover Athlete Quinn Ewers will lead his Longhorns once again, and hopefully past the CFP Semi-final. The school enters the game with the fourth best offense and eighth best defense, as well as the 19th toughest stadium to play in. Even though Arch Manning isn't in the game (yet), there's still plenty of reason to rock with the Lonhorns in Dynasty or RTG.

4. Alabama – 92 OVR

Despite the retirement of legendary HC Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide are still an incredible football team. There's a reason why several top recruits head to Alabama before going on to become pros. Even without Saban, the school has a program set in place that should hopefully ensure their success in the foreseeable future. Therefore, we completely understand seeing this school ranked where it is.

3. Oregon – 93 OVR

Dan Lanning's Oregon Ducks showed great improvement in Year 2. The team already ranks high in both the offensive and defensive rankings, so it makes sense to see them round up the top three. Furthermore, the team went 12-2 last year, with their only losses coming against the eventual CFP Final contenders, Washington.  But 2024 marks a great opportunity for the Ducks to make a CFP appearance of their own.

2. Ohio State – 93 OVR

Things were going perfectly for Ohio State last season, as they looked like potential contenders. However, a loss to Michigan in the final game of the regular season kicked the Buckeyes out of CFP Contention. That said, they're still an amazing team poised for great success. Head Coach Ryan Day has a strong record since he began coaching in 2018. However, it'll be interesting to see how the team plays with a new QB under center, after Kyle McCord transferred to Syracuse.

1. Georgia – 95 OVR

With Carson Beck primed for a big year, there's expectations that the team will return to its 2021-2022 form. With Nick Saban gone, there's hope for the Bulldogs that Alabama might not be quite ready yet to dominate again. The team has only lost two games in the last three seasons, both of which came from Alabama. However, that shouldn't take away from the fact that Georgia has the best team on paper.

Overall, that concludes the official College Football 25 Power Rankings before the game releases this July. While we're sure some fans will be happy to see where their school is ranked, expect a whole ton of confusion and speculation over all these selections.

Personally, I'm willing to overlook almost everything else except for the Colorado Buffaloes' ranking, who seem way too good in this game. EA Sports must've only watched the first six games of their 2023 season, because there is no way this team should be ranked this high. I'm honestly at a loss and cannot explain to you why a 4-8 team surpassed several others to earn such high ratings.

Anyways, we look forward to the next College Football 25 Deep Dive, which hopefully gives us more insight into Dynasty Mode and more. But for now, feel free to check out everything new from the latest sights and sounds deep dive.
