Could DeMarcus Lawrence become a New York Giant?

According to Bleacher Report, Lawrence is currently being considered a “dark horse” candidate for the defensive end position on the New York team.

Lawrence, who is currently with the Dallas Cowboys, went into the franchise option in 2017, after a 14.5-sack campaign. The 2014 second-round draft pick from Boise State can now command top dollar after racking up 16 more games and tallying 10.5 sacks, in addition to two forced fumbles and an interception.

How does this all relate to the New York Giants?

According to the outlet, the Giants are looking to do “whatever it takes” to keep contending around Eli Manning. Additionally, the Cowboys need to worry about their other team cornerstones, such as Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper.

But DeMarcus Lawrence has other things to worry about than a potential trade to the Giants.

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Rams triumphed over the Cowboys in a 30-22 divisional-round win, and Aqib Talib — the Rams' cornerback — wasted no time in dragging Lawrence for filth about the win.

Talib's profanity-laced reference to “taking the f–king soul” is a callback to Lawrence's comment earlier in the week about Jared Goff, the Los Angeles Rams quarterback.

So much for DeMarcus Lawrence's claim — even though the Cowboys' defense has been quite dominant this season. However, they didn't stand a chance against the Rams, whose rushing attack went off for 273 yards and three touchdowns. Lawrence, however, remains one of the League's best rushers, as he'd amassed 10.5 sacks this season.
