The New York Giants are a team trying to turn things around after a forgettable three-win season marred by injuries. Although the team seems to be heading in the right direction with a new head coach and a potential star in rookie running back Saquon Barkley, the past still lingers in New York with some former Giants players some things to say.

Recently, two former teammates of star quarterback Eli Manning, Shaun O’Hara and Justin Tuck, claimed the two-time Super Bowl champion's prime had been wasted in New York. Manning disagrees, via Tom Rock of Newsday.

At this point with two rings and long career in the NFL as a starter in New York, Manning's legacy is relatively solid and potentially good enough to earn him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame when the time comes.

It's unfortunate that the Giants haven't been able to compete much since their last time in 2011 with only one playoff appearance, but there's still time to give another run, especially with the talent now around Manning in New York.

Heading into the 2018 campaign, Manning will have superstar Odell Beckham Jr. healthy and back in the fold along with Barkley ready to show the league what he's got in his first season. The veteran quarterback will also have the added security of a proven offensive lineman with championship experience joining the squad in Nate Solder.

So although Manning had to go through a playoff drought and a rough three-win season, New York has a chance to bounce back quickly and salvage what the 37-year-old may have left in the tank.
