The post playing days for former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning have seen him turn into quite the Twitter personality.

Manning stayed relatively quiet during his NFL days with the Giants but he hasn't held back on social media, showing off his dry, yet hilarious sense of humor. On Monday, Manning decided to chime in on an exchange between Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson.

Brady had initially congratulated Mickelson on his PGA Championship win Sunday. Mickelson responded by saying the two needed to partner up again soon and take on someone else. That's when Eli Manning dropped into the conversation.

Two words is all it took to spark quite the reaction as sides were formed in the Eli Manning ā€“ Tom Brady debate.

Brady won yet another Super Bowl this past year, in his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But it's long been known that for whatever reason, Eli and his Giants had Brady's number when he was with the Patriots. They knocked off New England in not one but two Super Bowls. And now, apparently Eli wants to be apart of the next golf adventure.

It's somewhat puzzling how little Eli has to say in some of his tweets to cause a reaction and get a laugh. Perhaps picking his spots is one of the keys for the former Giants great.

Whether or not this idea comes to fruition or not is yet to be seen. Tom Brady will likely have a rebuttal tweet of his own to fire away soon enough. And for that, we are thankful.
