New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has a message for disgruntled fans of the franchise following an embarrassing 19-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv, Manning simply wants the team’s supporters to calm down, and don’t let the loss to the Cowboys define how New York would perform the rest of the way.

Perhaps there wouldn’t be this much brouhaha surrounding the Giants if the team did better than score three points against the Cowboys. Manning and the offense had a tough time moving the chains, thus putting much focus on the absence of star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. due to an ankle injury. Beckham is day-to-day, so it’s possible he’ll sit out another contest.

Manning finished the contest completing 29 of 38 passes for 268 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Overall, the Giants were just 4 of 12 on third down conversions and mustered just 233 total yards.

Up ahead for the Giants is a tussle with the Detroit Lions in New York’s first home game of the season. He may not say it, but Manning and the Giants are feeling the pressure this early in the campaign.
