Questions arose when Giants running back Saquon Barkley abruptly left the practice field on Friday. Reporters questioned if his absence was due to the ankle injury that he has been dealing with for weeks now.

According to Giants beat reporter Dan Duggan, Barkley “slipped into the field house” early on in practice and didn't return during the media viewing period. Duggan tweeted that the injury-prone running back explained after practice that his abrupt exit “was related to his digestive system and not his ankle.”

Duggan's tweet got a decent amount of traction from Giants fans and NFL fans roasting Barkley.

One tweet reads “Gaw, He been hanging around Lamar or something!” This is in reference to when Lamar suddenly left the Ravens vs. Browns MNF game last season for “cramps.” Although he claims this, Twitter will never believe he didn't have “digestive issues” of his own.

Another tweet pokes fun at his constant struggle with injuries. “His immune system injury prone as well?”

In the Ravens running backs' conversation with the media, Barkley explains the situation a little more personally than Duggan did. A reporter mentioned that he saw him go inside and asked for an explanation.

“Do you want me to be honest? I had a really good thanksgiving meal, I had to use the bathroom,” Barkley said laughing.

Despite all of this and his ankle injury, Barkley is optimistic for the Giants matchup against the Eagles on Sunday. Barkley and wide receiver John Ross are listed as questionable and rookie Kadarius Toney is doubtful. Sterling Shepard remains on the injury list and is OUT for Week 12.
