The New York Giants had two first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. They used their first pick, fifth overall, to draft outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux. According to Giants legend Michael Strahan, the team definitely made the right decision.

NFL tweeted Strahan's opinion on the first-round pick Thursday morning.

“I believe we got a good pick who's going to bring some joy to Giants fans for some years to come,” Strahan said.

This is a huge compliment, especially coming from Strahan. The Super Bowl champion, seven-time Pro-Bowler, and 2001 Defensive Player of the Year still holds the record for the most sacks in a season with 22.5. TJ Watt tied that record this year during his remarkable season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Strahan is right, Kayvon Thibodeaux certainly has everything he needs to be a huge contributor for the Giants. He had three outstanding seasons with the Oregon Ducks and stood out among the other edge rushers alongside Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson.

In his final NCAA season, Thibodeaux made 49 tackles, 35 solo, and 14 assisted. He also recorded seven sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass deflection.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is expected to be the Giants' starting left outside linebacker. His game should coincide nicely with veteran left defensive end Jihad Ward and fellow rookie left cornerback Cordale Flott. The team selected him 81st overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.

If Thibodeaux can avoid any more injuries ahead of the upcoming season, he's bound to be a breakout star for the Giants in 2022.
