Following their Monday night loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the New York Giants look to be heading toward building toward the future following the trade of cornerback Eli Apple to the New Orleans Saints.

This has put into question the future of quarterback Eli Manning as the team continues to tumble down the standing dropping seven of their first eight games played. With that in mind, head coach Pat Shurmur has voiced that he doesn't envision that Manning will be traded prior to the deadline on Oct. 30, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

That would be quarterback Eli Manning, of course, and the question was put to Giants head coach Pat Shurmur on Tuesday. Shurmur said, via multiple reporters, that he believes Manning will still be the team’s quarterback after the trade deadline on October 30.

The fact that Shurmur has to address rumors concerning manning speaks a lot about where things are headed with the team as their playoff chances seem all but shot with them having to essentially win out to even have an opportunity to secure a playoff spot. This has put them in the tough spot of having to assess their outlook beyond this season as draft picks could become more feasible to the franchise.

Manning has had his fair share of struggles this season that has seen him struggle to lead the team on scoring drives with the team ranking 27th in the with just 19.6 points per game while only topping 30 points just once this season. A significant chunk of these difficulties lie with the offensive line, but he had issues making throws down the field with any consistency aside from wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard.

Ultimately, these next few days leading up to the trade deadline will be telling of Manning's fate in New York.
