New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley still hasn’t signed his rookie contract, which is likely to be worth around $32 million. But he’s expected to sign it sooner rather than later, and so he’s already putting some of his incoming cash to good use.

Barkley shelled out over $400,000 in order to fulfill a childhood promise to buy his parents a new home in Pennsylvania. Barkley posted a picture of his parents’ new abode on his Instagram account along with this touching caption:

“Something I promised my parents, ever since I was a young kid. Finally be able to achieve that goal is the most amazing feeling. Every kid out there that has a dream continue to keep your head down and work your butt off, great things will come along the way.”

Per TMZ, The house is 3,355 square feet, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It's also right in the area where Barkley grew up and isn’t too far away from his new home, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

It’s always touching to hear of rookies doing these sorts of gestures for their parents and other loved ones with their initial contracts. For just about all of them, their journey to the NFL is a culmination of years and years of hard work, and they couldn’t have done it without the love and support of their families. It’s only fitting that they receive a token of his appreciation for everything they’ve done.

As for Barkley, this will likely be the first of many houses he purchases in his life. If he lives up to his billing as a potentially transcendent talent and is paid as such, he may just have a handful of extravagant mansions himself when it's all said and done.
