The New York Giants are expecting big things from rookie running back Saquon Barkley. They believe Barkley can be a transcendent superstar, which was why they spent the No. 2 overall pick on him. And it appears Barkley has the same belief in himself to do great things-like overtake the great Tiki Barber on the franchise's all-time lists.

Barber revealed that the first thing Barkley said to him when they met was that he was coming for the Giants great’s records.

“It is the first thing he said to me,” Barber told NJ Advance Media. “Of course I like that. I told him, ‘If you break all my records, the Giants are in good shape.’ It’s not a disrespect thing. He believes in himself. That’s amazing.”

Barber also backed Barkley to break all of his records if he manages to stay healthy. Although, Barkley will have his work cut out for him when it comes to claiming Barber’s records.

Tiki is currently the franchise’s all-time rushing leader with 10,449 yards and has 38 career 100-yard games, which is twice as many as the next closest Giant. He’s also second to Brandon Jacobs in rushing touchdowns and second to Frank Gifford in total touchdowns.

It’s a tremendous display of confidence for Barkley to make such bold proclamations before he's even played an actual NFL game. But based on the ability he’s flashed, it seems as though he has what it takes to back up all his big talk of breaking records when it’s all said and done.
