In 2012, former NFL running back Brandon Jacobs was released by the New York Giants due to the franchise's belief it could not afford him. The news did not sit well with a young fan.

Joe Armento, who was six years old at the time, took the news of Jacobs leaving and signing with the San Francisco 49ers to heart. In an effort to keep his favorite player wearing Giants blue, Armento decided to take matters into his own hands.

The boy wrote Jacobs a sincere letter, and with it, he sent some money to the tune of $3.36, to convince former Giant to stay in New York.

The letter read.

“Dear Brandon Jacobs, So you could go to the Giants, here is my money. Love, Joe.”

Jacobs would receive the letter months later. Flattered, he tweeted the letter and went viral. As a response, the former two-time Super Bowl-winning running back repaid the young fan's dedication by treating Armento to an afternoon of fun-filled activities. In addition, Jacobs also gave the passionate young Giants fan a signed helmet, to go along with a $5 to repay the money set to him.

The Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows detailed the joyous occasion.

Jacobs was touched by the gesture and told Armento's mother, Julie, that he would be in New Jersey for a short time this week while he packed up his belongings and moved his family to the Bay Area. He thought his original idea for a meeting place, Chuck E. Cheese, might cause too much of scene. So they settled on a bounce house.

Jacobs brought his five-year-old son along, and the four kids — Jacobs included — played non-stop for nearly two hours. Julie Armento said no one even took a water break.

Jacobs would eventually have a second stint with the New York Giants in 2013, and Joe Armento could not have been happier with the reunion.
