Over the last few weeks, rumors have been flying all over the place about the San Francisco Giants trading starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner. While the rumors are still persisting, the Giants may have changed gears when it comes to their trade deadline plans after a recent streak of winning.

According to a report from Jon Heyman of the MLB Network, the Giants are unlikely to trade Bumgarner.

Obviously, anything can change in a second, but this is an interesting development. San Francisco may feel that they can compete and trading Bumgarner would then go out the window. Plenty of teams have interest in acquiring him and if he is indeed taken off the market, would have to change course to another starting option.

Throughout the 2019 season thus far with the Giants, Bumgarner has compiled a 5-7 record to go along with a 3.65 ERA and 127 strikeouts. He is one of the most proven pitchers in the game and if he is traded, would have a massive impact on the contender that paid to get him.

Bumgarner has spent all 11 years of his career in San Francisco. It would be very strange to see him pitching anywhere else.

All of that being said, there is still plenty of time before the trade deadline arrives. If the Giants cool off and feel they should get what they can for their superstar pitcher, he could still be on the move.

Make sure to stay tuned, as the rumors will continue pouring in over the next few days. Bumgarner is certainly a name to keep an eye on.
