Glover Teixeira has reached the pinnacle of the sport at the ripe old age of 42. The Brazilian American has added the exclamation point his career has been waiting on for years.

Jan Blachowicz had proven to be a tough champion to beat after putting on dominant performances against Israel Adesanya and Dominick Reyes. Many thought the champions boxing and ‘Polish Power' would be too much for Glover Teixeira. They were very, very wrong.

Glover Teixeira changed his way of fighting in the second half of the 2010s. He used to be known for solid boxing and good ground game.

He changed his style of fighting after getting knocked out by Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson. He realized he couldn't take the same punches he used to in his youth.

Now he relies on his excellent ground game to dominate opponents and finish them. This was seen in many of his fights and a great example of it was against Anthony Smith.

Glover Teixeira dominated Anthony Smith and had many people questioning when corners should throw in the towel. It was a beatdown that proved he was one of the best on the ground.

He showed that ground game early on against Jan Blachowicz. He took the Polish champion down and dominated him on the ground in the first round.

In the second round, Glover Teixeira was more than happy to keep it on the feet for a little bit. He found success with a big left hook that wobbled Jan Blachowicz.

Glover Teixeira took the fight to the ground and found the rear-naked-choke finish very quickly. He became the second oldest UFC champion of all time.
