A somber atmosphere can be felt in the city of San Antonio, Texas this week.
In the wake of Spurs power forward Tim Duncan announcing his retirement, countless fans around the world have expressed their feelings toward The Big Fundamental. Former players, active players, and NBA coaches have even conveyed their admiration for Duncan and his off-the-court lifestyle, as well as his demeanor on it.
Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich spoke exclusively to the media today and delivered a sentimental and very detailed message about his former player.
Popovich stood stoically among the media, and in Popovich fashion, he wore a Tim Duncan T-shirt that read “Impossible Is Potential” with an image of Duncan himself holding a basketball. After a few brief laughs, a rare emotional Popovich spoke about Tim.

San Antonio and Tim Duncan fans everywhere will miss the big guy for all he has done, and witnessing a heartfelt Gregg Popovich saying goodbye to the Tim Duncan era will always be a memory to cherish and revisit.
