Memphis Grizzlies young star Ja Morant continues to impress as the 22-year-old exploded for a record-breaking game against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The former ROTY had an incredible all-around game against the Lakers but, unfortunately, ended up short in crunch time and suffered a tough 121-118 loss against LA.

Despite the loss, Morant should keep his head high after recording one of the best games the Grizzlies franchise has ever seen. The athletic guard tallied the first-ever 40-point and 10-assist night for the organization which continues to prove that he is one of the best young stars in the league right now.

Take a bow, young king.

Morant did everything for the Grizzlies on Sunday night. Well, almost. Aside from getting his 40-piece, the Memphis star knocked down five threes and snagged three steals to try and steal a road win against the struggling Lakers. Unfortunately, the young stud missed a crucial free throw that would've tied the ball game with under two seconds left which ultimately cost them their first loss of the season.

Still, Ja has nothing to be ashamed of. He's been absolutely on fire in the Grizzlies' first three games this season and there seem to be no signs of him slowing down. He's now averaging 35 points per game as he tries to spearhead his young team to another playoff run this season.
