Washington Wizards All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal says Memphis Grizzlies rookie point guard Ja Morant reminds him of his teammate, Wizards star point guard John Wall.

Morant is the early front-runner for Rookie of the Year since No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson has yet to play a game for the New Orleans Pelicans. Ja has been putting on a show for the Grizzlies with his highlight plays:

Morant recently had a nasty poster dunk on Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes. The Grizzlies rookie admitted before the 2019 draft that Houston Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook is his favorite player in the league. Morant plays with the reckless abandon Westbrook plays with. He also has the speed and finishing ability prime John Wall had.

In 19 games this season, Morant is averaging 18.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists. He's shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 42.2 percent from beyond the arc and 78.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Grizzlies aren't expected to compete for a playoff spot this season. Memphis is 8-16, 13th place in the Western Conference standings. This season is all about developing Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Brandon Clarke and Dillon Brooks the proper way.

Wall is expected to miss the entire season for the Wizards recovering from his Achilles tear. Morant definitely has a little young Wall in him.
