The Memphis Grizzlies have recently been rumored to be shopping Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson in a bid to clear some of their 18 guaranteed contracts. However, Ja Morant put the talks to rest with a definitive statement.

On Twitter, Morant called for the rumors to “stop” since there is no truth to it. He then retweeted a report from Omari Sankofa II of Detroit Free Press indicating that contrary to speculations, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Grizzlies have not engaged in a trade talk involving the two.

A recent report from Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com claimed that the Grizzlies are making Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson available for the “right price.”

While it truly seems unlikely that Memphis will part ways with their second-leading scorer in Brooks and a do-it-all wing in Anderson, it doesn't erase the fact that the team needs to move players to fulfill the league maximum on guaranteed contracts.

The Grizzlies are set to be one of the most exciting NBA teams in 2021-22, though, especially with the multitude of young talent they have. They already made the postseason in 2021 despite being an inexperienced team, so it's intriguing what step they will take next as Ja Moran and Co. look to make a deeper postseason run in the upcoming season.

Of course that will be easier said than done given the level of talent out West, but if the Grizzlies make the right moves, keep their core centered around Ja Morant, and improve their chemistry, then they certainly have a good chance to succeed.
