Ja Morant may have failed to complete the Memphis Grizzlies' comeback against the Los Angeles Lakers, botching what would have been a game-tying free-throw. However, he is keeping a positive mindset despite the setback.

After the Grizzlies fell to the Lakers 121-118, Morant took to Twitter to address his missed clutch free-throw. For those who didn't watch the contest, the Memphis guard drew a three-point foul from Kent Bazemore with 2.5 seconds left and the Lakers just ahead 119-116. He was able to finish the first two, but with the game on the line, Ja wasn't able to convert the equalizer that would have sent it to overtime.

While it's easy to blame Ja Morant for the missed shot, it is worth noting that he was the reason the Grizzlies stayed in the game in the first place. He finished with 40 points and 10 assists, becoming the first player in franchise history to record such stat line.

Morant also only had two missed free throws throughout, and it's just that he ran out of gas in the end. Perhaps the pressure also got into him, but at just his third year in the league, mistakes like that should only help him grow.

As Morant stated, “failure builds character.” Based on that comment alone, Grizzlies fans better know that their young star will bounce back even better.
