The Memphis Grizzlies may have lost Game 2 against the Utah Jazz. But none of that falls on the shoulders of point guard Ja Morant.

The young Grizzlies star was absolutely on his game against the Jazz as he torched them for 47 points. That mark wasn't just impressive on it's face, it's actually historic for more reasons than you'd imagine.

Ja Morant's 47 was the most points scored in the playoffs by any player in its 26-year history.

But the Grizzlies guard also made his mark on NBA history, recording the highest point total among all players aged 21 or younger. Morant turns 22 on August 10th.

Morant's 47-point tally beats out some incredible showings from some of the game's all-time great players. Then-Cleveland Cavaliers youngster LeBron James recorded a 45-point game during the first playoff run of his career for his age-21 season. Luka Doncic had an incredible 43 points, including the game-winner for the Dallas Mavericks in his own first run during the NBA bubble last season. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan both reached a high of 35 points during their respective runs as a 21-year-old.

But Ja Morant has passed them all.

The Grizzlies star also tallied the second-most points through his first two playoff appearances, going right past Doncic and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, while being just two points shy of George Mikan's all-time record.

To say that Ja Morant has a bright future ahead of him is a massive understatement. The Grizzlies star has plenty of heights yet to reach, but he's already making a name for himself.
