Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant etched his name in team history once more after another stellar performance, this time against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night. As per Stat Muse, the 21-year-old point guard joined the likes of Mike Conley and Jason Williams as the only players to tally 35 points and 10 assists in a game in Grizzlies history.

Morant's production proved to be pivotal for his team as they built a huge 71-56 lead by the end of the first half. The Wizards never managed to get back on their feet for the remainder of the tilt as the Grizzlies escaped D.C. with a 125-111 victory.

The sophomore star finished the night with 35 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field along with 10 assists and five rebounds. Dillon Brooks and De'Anthony Melton both scored 20 points apiece to contribute to the winning cause of the Grizzlies as well.

Head coach Taylor Jenkins and his men are currently on a two-game winning streak to account for a 16-15 record for the ninth spot in the Western Conference. A key reason for their struggles is the shaky performance of Morant after he encountered a left ankle sprain which led him to miss a total of seven games back in mid-January.

The Grizzlies will definitely have to bring their game a notch higher in the second half of the season in order to secure a ticket to the playoffs amid stiff competition in the West. Ja Morant's impressive showing against the Wizards will hopefully bring him the much-needed confidence to perform at a higher level to lead his team to more wins in their coming games.
