For the first time in his life, Memphis Grizzlies center Joakim Noah is living alone. And he's savoring every single minute of it.

Per Ben Stinar of Amic Hoops, Noah shared his sentiments on the laid back lifestyle in Memphis. Since signing with the Grizzlies on Dec. 4, he's much more focused on his craft than ever before. It helps that life is slower in the south compared to the usual high-paced cities he's played for.

“It’s the south, so it’s a lot more laid back,” he said. “I think that for what I needed it couldn’t be a better fit. I’m focused on my craft.

Noah shared that after inking a deal, he came to Memphis by himself and is living alone. It may not be ideal for some, but it has certainly worked for the former Defensive Player of the Year. He likes that there's little to no distractions. He has ample time to reflect on his life and the new lessons acquired every day.

“I have zero distractions. I came to Memphis by myself, so this is the first time that I live by myself. This is the first time I ever lived by myself in my life. I’m 34 years old, and you know it’s also you learn and you grow when you have that time for yourself.”

Basketball-wise, Noah's still making some adjustments to fit the Grizzlies' system. He's shown sparks of his old self in several games. Hopefully, this will be enough to get another offer from the organization so he may stay a little longer in Memphis.
