Marc Gasol did not exactly get along with David Fizdale during their time together with the Memphis Grizzlies, but on Sunday afternoon when the Grind City visited Fizdale's New York Knicks, it was nothing but love.

David Fizdale was fired 19 games into his second season with Memphis after a 7-12 start. He originally took over as the Grizzlies head coach in 2016, going 43-39 over his first year with the club.

Prior to joining Memphis as a head coach, Fizdale spent years as an assistant head coach for multiple organizations, most notably serving as an assistant under Erik Spoelstra with the Miami Heat for eight years.

Fizdale earned his first NBA coaching job, however, with the Golden State Warriors, as he held a post as an assistant for the Warriors during the 2003-04 campaign. He then made his way to the Atlanta Hawks where he was an assistant for four years.

The 44-year-old's tenure with the Knicks has not exactly gotten off to a great start, as the Knicks fell to just 10-42 with their loss to the Grizzlies on Sunday.

However, New York is in rebuilding mode, so Fizdale will surely be given a grace period by New York's front office.

For Marc Gasol, his days in Memphis may be numbered. The 34-year-old big man has been the subject of trade rumors and could very well be moved before the Feb. 7 deadline. If he does not get dealt, he can opt out of his contract this summer to become a free agent.

Gasol has spent his entire 11-year NBA career with the Grizzlies.
