Memphis Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol is listed as questionable for his team's game against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night, according to David Cobb of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Gasol has a sore back and was also dealing with a wrist issue recently. With the Grizzlies playing a back-to-back after falling to the Boston Celtics on the road on Friday night, it seems that they may be playing it safe by resting their center.

The 33-year-old finished with four points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds while going just 1-of-10 from the floor in the 122-116 loss to the Celtics.

On the year, Gasol is averaging 15.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks over 33.8 minutes per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the floor, 35.5 percent from three-point range and 76.3 percent from the free-throw line.

With Memphis struggling and on the verge of a complete roster teardown, Gasol could very well be on the trading block between now and the Feb. 7 trading deadline.

The problem is that Gasol has a $25.6 million player option for next season, and with the veteran in decline, it's not definite that he will opt out of his deal, as he will likely never earn that much in any one season for the remainder of his career.

Gasol was originally selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft, but that ensuing season, he was traded to the Grizzlies for his brother, Pau.

He earned his first NBA action during the 2008-09 campaign ans has been Memphis' starting center ever since, making three All-Star Games and earning a Defensive Player of the Year award in the process.
