Former Phoenix Suns head coach Igor Kokoskov reportedly recently interviewed for the vacant Memphis Grizzlies coaching job, according to Tim Bontemps of ESPN.

Kokoskov was fired last month after one season in Phoenix. He went 19-63 with the Suns this season.

The Grizzlies fired J.B. Bickerstaff after the season ended. Memphis went 33-49 in 2018-19. They have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

The Grizzlies have also been linked to Lithuania's Sarunas Jasikevicius. Memphis is looking to build their franchise around big man Jaren Jackson Jr. after trading Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors at the February trade deadline. Assuming they draft Murray State point guard Ja Morant with the second overall pick in this year's draft, the Grizzlies could trade veteran guard Mike Conley this summer.

Before he took the Suns job, Kokoskov was an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz for three seasons. He was pretty much set up to fail in Phoenix, so we shouldn't judge Igor's coaching ability based on the job he did with the Suns.

The Grizzlies used to be a staple in the NBA playoffs. They made the postseason from 2010-2017, but have missed out the last two seasons. Besides Jackson, the other promising young player on the team is guard Dillon Brooks. The Grizzlies should hire a new coach before the draft, which is on June 20.
