Despite a short moment of disappointment when he expected a rating of “at least 90” as one of the top point guards in NBA 2K18, only to find out he was rated an 87, Mike Conley is seeing just what his rating could do for him in-game.

After seeing his own personal player preview two days before the release of The Prelude, the game showcases Conley with his signature haircut and the ability to cross over, dime, and do his patented step back into a lefty jumper that saw him score a career-high 20.5 points per game last season.

While most NBA athletes strive to be as close to a 99 rating over their NBA career, a rating like Conley's will let whoever has his hands on the sticks net silky three-point jumpers, get around defenders and play some prime time D, a lost art for some of today's floor generals.

Conley has elevated his game, not only posting career-highs across the board, but improving his efficiency from all distances and justifying a juicy five-year, $153 million deal that he received in the offseason of 2016 — one that made him the best-paid NBA player per annual salary since Michael Jordan.

While the contracts this year have elevated that much more, putting Conley's as just another in the bunch, the Ohio State standout will need to do even more this season after key departures in Zach Randolph and Vince Carter this offseason.
