Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins had some choice words for the officiating crew in the team's Game 4 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jenkins lambasted the referees for their performance on Saturday, tearing into their decision-making, going as far as to call it “one of the most poorly officiated games I've ever seen in my NBA career.” In response, Jenkins has been slapped with a $15,000 fine, per the NBA Communications.

The Grizzlies suffered a disappointing 119-118 defeat to the Timberwolves in Game 4, resulting in the series evening up at two wins per side. Jenkins feels the Grizzlies were robbed, however, and didn't hold back when blasting the officials for their lackluster judgment.

“I’ve never seen a more inconsistent, arrogant officiated game,” Jenkins said after the loss, via The Athletic. “So, I’ll take whatever hit is coming my way, protect our guys. We know we’ve gotta get better. But from the get-go, it was foul, foul, foul, foul, foul. Inconsistency. There was actually one play where a foul whistle was blown before contact was even made. It’s embarrassing.”

While Jenkins may have had a point with his arguments, noting the vast disparity in fouls called on the Grizzles (33) compared to the Timberwolves (23), and the fact that Minnesota shot 15 more free-throws than the Grizzlies in the game.

Still, despite his evidence, the NBA issued him the fine he knew was coming, slapping him with a $15,000 punishment as a result of his comments. Jenkins won't be surprised to receive the fine, though we're sure he won't be happy about it.
