The praise of Memphis Grizzlies rookie point guard Ja Morant continues, this time from Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

Kerr says Morant has a little Allen Iverson in him.

Morant has been nothing short of spectacular this season for the Grizzlies. He’s averaging 18.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game entering Wednesday while shooting 47.2 percent from the field, 42.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Ja spoiled Mike Conley’s return to Memphis last week. He led the Grizzlies to a 107-106 win over the Utah Jazz by putting up 25 points and eight assists. Morant outplayed Conley, who finished with 15 points and three assists.

Iverson is one of the greatest players in NBA history. Morant has that speed which Iverson played with during his Hall of Fame career. The Grizzlies guard also plays above the rim like Russell Westbrook and MVP Derrick Rose. The Grizzlies are very lucky to have Ja as their new franchise player in the post-Conley era.

Memphis isn't expected to compete for a playoff spot this season. This year is all about developing Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke.

Morant has a chance to win the Rookie of the Year Award since No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson has yet to play due to his knee injury.
