Report: Grizzlies owner Robert Pera inquired about moving team last August

Grizzlies, Robert Pera

Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera reportedly inquired about moving the franchise last August, per Ronald Fauci Tillery.

Back in 2018, the Grizzlies were mentioned as a team which could possibly move to Seattle. The city hasn’t had basketball since the SuperSonics were taken from them.

The Grizzlies were the Vancouver Grizzlies from 1995-2001. They became the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002.

Robert Pera bought the Grizzlies in 2012. The team went 32-33 prior to play being suspended due to the coronavirus.

Rookie point guard Ja Morant and second-year big man Jaren Jackson Jr. are the new franchise cornerstones for the Grizzlies in the post-Mike Conley and Marc Gasol era.
