Back in 2018, the Grizzlies were mentioned as a team which could possibly move to Seattle. The city hasn't had basketball since the SuperSonics were taken from them.

The Grizzlies were the Vancouver Grizzlies from 1995-2001. They became the Memphis Grizzlies in 2002.

Robert Pera bought the Grizzlies in 2012. The team went 32-33 prior to play being suspended due to the coronavirus.

Rookie point guard Ja Morant and second-year big man Jaren Jackson Jr. are the new franchise cornerstones for the Grizzlies in the post-Mike Conley and Marc Gasol era.
