With the Guilty Gear Strive season 1 pass coming to a close, Arc System Works has recently revealed the return of a classic Guilty Gear character being added to the roster. In an announcement made over the weekend during their ARCREVO America tournament finals, the elegant grim reaper, Testament will be available as a playable fighter on March 28th for season pass 1 owners and on March 31st as an individual purchase.

Presenting as neither a male nor female, Testament in Guilty Gear Strive now has a more feminine appearance when compared to his previous appearance in past Guilt Gear games, while speaking with a male voice in the English dubbing for the game. Along with his new appearance, Testament’s gameplay system stays close to his original playstyle, where he uses several ranged attacks along with his large scythe to control fights in mid-range.

Along with the reveal of Testament, a new stage will also be added called “White House Reborn”, which recreated the White House of the United States of America while sporting a unique look that fits the heavy metal style of Guilty Gear that fans have come to know and love. This stage will also be available on  March 31st for season pass 1 owners and on March 31st as an individual purchase.

Along with other announcements such as the inclusion of “Digitial Figure Mode” and “Another Story”, Arc System Works has mentioned that Season 2 for Guilty Guity Strive is now in development, which will include additional fighters along with cross-platform play between Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and PC Steam versions. Currently, no release date for season 2 has been revealed.

The final details revealed during ARCEVO America is that Guilty Gear Strive will be returning for the Arc World Tour tournament series alongside their newest fighting game, DNF Duel, with a $100,000 prize pool, so players from all over the world will have plenty of incentive to tune in and participate.

Guilty Gear Strive is available now on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC via Steam.
