Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard has been putting his best numbers of the season in March, but to former teammate Dennis Schroder, he's only picking these performances based on how to best pluck his former teams.

Howard put up his best performance of the season against his hometown team, the Atlanta Hawks, stuffing the stat sheet with a 33-point, 12-rebound performance that included an assist, two steals, two blocks, and a surprising 7-of-8 night from the stripe.

“He plays always great against his former team,” said Schroder, according to K.L. Chouinard of Hawks.com still with a bit of venom to come. “Credit to him too, but that's like four games each year, you know? Houston, L.A., us. I think he's always giving his best there but the others games he (shrugs).”

Oh, man… That's a shot if we've ever seen one, and Schroder went straight for a kill one at that.

There is a certain truth to Schroder's words, as Howard has put up a double-double in every game against the Hawks, sweeping the season series 4-0 after the latest 129-117 win on the road. However, Howard has also had an absolute resurgence of a year with Charlotte, with his highest points and blocks per game averages since his first season with the Rockets in 2013-14.

Though Howard has made the most of this month especially, as he had yet to record a 30-point game as a Hornet, since being traded by the Hawks in the offseason, only being a year rental with his hometown team.

The 6-foot-11 center now has three 30-point games in the last five games, finding his offensive groove with ease.

Schroder was one of many Hawks players that weren't happy with his presence in the locker room or on the floor, and is it looks now, there is no love lost between the two despite being in different teams.
