Trae Young came up with another huge performance for the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night as they made easy work of a hapless Oklahoma City Thunder side. Young dropped a game-high 41 points as the Hawks took out the Thunder, 136-118.

This was the 26th time in his career that Young eclipsed the 40-point mark. In a stunning revelation, StatMuse dropped a massive bomb about how Young now actually has as many 40-point games as Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving:

That's quite shocking, especially if you consider how well Kyrie has been playing for the Nets this season. Earlier in the month, the All-Star point guard exploded for a career-high 60 points against the Orlando Magic. He's been in the league for quite a while now, so you would think that he would have amassed more 40-point outings than Young. Well, that just isn't the case.

For some perspective, Trae Young is just in his fourth season with the Hawks. On the contrary, Irving is a 10-year veteran who has been on no less than three different teams.

This is not a knock on Kyrie. It actually speaks volumes of how explosive Trae Young is on the offensive end. The fact that he's just 23 only means that there are going to be many more 40-point outbursts from this man in the years to come.
