The Atlanta Hawks got an unlikely hero on Thursday night as Tony Snell knocked down a massive buzzer-beating three to give his team a 121-120 win over the Toronto Raptors. Snell's three-point bomb didn't even touch the rim as his smooth jumper hit the bottom of the net as the final buzzer sounded to spoil the start of the second of the season for the 2019 NBA champs.

Snell seemed to have been the last option on the Hawks' final play but sure made the most out of the opportunity.

With seven seconds left and Atlanta down by just two, Trae Young drove hard to the basket and attracted three defenders. As the defense collapsed, Young had a couple of options with Danilo Gallinari on the top of the key or a cutting Kevin Huerter near the rim.

But, Young stayed patient and composed and eventually found Snell who had a higher-percentage shot given that the Raptors defense were all glued to Young's other options.

The 29-year-old journeyman took his time and knocked down his second three-pointer of the game to help the Hawks win their third straight win. With big shots like this, it sure seems that Snell's spot in the Hawks' starting unit should be a lock, at least for now.
