Atlanta Hawks All-Star point guard Trae Young plans to play in the HORSE game that the NBA and ESPN have come up with.

However, the Hawks star says only half-court shots should be allowed:

Trae Young, Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard casually knock down shots from almost half-court during live games, so fans can only imagine how good they would be in a game of HORSE.

So far, Young, Chris Paul and Zach LaVine have volunteered to play in the game.

Before the season was suspended due to COVID-19, Young was averaging 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists for the Hawks. The 21-year-old was also shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Despite Young's stellar numbers, the Hawks were in 14th place in the Eastern Conference standings with a putrid record of 20-47.

No one knows if the 2019-20 season is going to resume, so this HORSE game might be the closest thing fans get to watching basketball. Hopefully, some other NBA stars join the game.

Young, who is the new franchise player for Atlanta, is putting up 23.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 8.6 assists through his first 141 NBA games. The Hawks have a solid young core of Young, John Collins, Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter and De'Andre Hunter.

Atlanta acquired Clint Capela from the Houston Rockets at the trade deadline, but he hasn't made his Hawks debut yet because of a heel injury.

The Hawks need to get another star next to Young if they want to make the playoffs.
