Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young got into a scuffle with Portland Trail Blazers forward Trevor Ariza in the third quarter of their Saturday night matchup. Eventually, the two let cooler heads prevail and hugged it out after the final buzzer sounded.

After the Hawks' 129-117 win, Young took to social media to pay his respects to the veteran forward for his competitiveness. But, yes, he did feel every bit of the hard tug Ariza gave him to dap him up:

Of course, Young did not forget to send a message to his naysayers:

Whatever happens on the court, stays on the court. All the beef and competition only happens within the 48-minute confines of a game. At the end of the day, though, the NBA is a brotherhood.

Young attempted to nutmeg Ariza as he drove to the basket midway through the third period. Ariza, however, did not want any part of it and mitigated the embarrassment that would have ensued by shoving Young to the sidelines.

The two eventually got into a heated confrontation. The referees issued a flagrant foul on Ariza, while Young tried to hype up a rowdy Hawks crowd.

Ice Trae led the Hawks with 25 points and 15 assists. He finished the month of February with nightly averages of 31.3 points and 10.1 assists, which marks the second consecutive month the All-Star guard averaged at least 30 points and 10 dimes.

Young is having a spectacular sophomore campaign. His marked improvement, especially with his efficiency, earned him his first All-Star appearance.

Unfortunately, Young's massive performances throughout the season has not led to many wins. The Hawks surely want to make the playoffs next season after falling short of expectations in 2019-20. Atlanta is currently 19-43 on the season, but there have been positive signs lately.
