Trae Young made a triumphant return to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night as he led the Atlanta Hawks to a hard-fought 117-111 win over the New York Knicks. The All-Star point guard has emerged as one of the biggest villains for Knicks fans and Young made sure to live up to the narrative on Tuesday.

Unsurprisingly, the Hawks star was heckled by New York supporters throughout the game. At one point, Young fired back at a courtside fan with an epic three-word response (h/t Bleacher Report on Twitter):

“Hold that L,” Young told the heckler as he made an “L” sign using his fingers.

Note that Young did this right in the middle of the game. The Hawks were playing defense at that point in time and Young even lost his man as he was exchanging pleasantries with the Knicks fan.

Trae made sure he would deliver on his promise, though, as he lifted the Hawks to a big win against their rivals. Young dropped a game-high 45 points on 13-of-25 shooting to go along with eight assists and seven triples.

Once again, Trae Young came, saw, and conquered Madison Square Garden. He also made sure to let Knicks fans know about it.
