Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young was asked for his top-five players of all time on Monday night, and the 21-year-old decided to put Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James above the great Micheal Jordan and Lakers legend Kobe Bryant:

This is indeed one of the most polarizing discussions in the whole of the NBA, and no matter who's on top of anybody's list, there's no doubt that an abundance of criticism will follow. For his part, though, the Hawks point guard may have been bored out of his mind to voluntarily thrust himself right into the pit of the fire of this debate.

James, Jordan, and Bryant are truly icons of the sport, and one cannot fault Young for picking LeBron over the other two. Perhaps the fact that Young was actually able to play against James on the court and see him in action firsthand played a vital role in his personal ranking. Surely, growing up watching LeBron dominate the league also had a tremendous influence on Young and his own basketball career.

Kevin Durant and Steve Nash are curious members of this all-time list, but this is clearly something that's personal to Young:

The Hawks star also opted to indulge another question, this time pertaining to the best defenders in the league today:

That's a formidable list right there, and it's hard to argue against Young's picks. Of course, there are a lot of people who have called him out for failing to mention some other great defenders in the NBA right now, but you have to remember that Young has faced all these guys firsthand. The opinion of a player who has actually gone toe-to-toe against some of the best defenders in the league matters more than the dozens of triggered keyboard warriors out there.
