Atlanta Hawks sophomore Trae Young is determined to improve this offseason. In fact, he claimed he is practicing just as hard right now as he was when he had scouts carefully observing him during this time last year.

“I’ve been training basically like it’s pre-draft,” Young said, per Ben Stinar of AmicoHoops. “Been training super hard in the weight room, trying to get stronger, trying to get bigger, faster.”

Young is currently hosting his third basketball camp, albeit his first in Atlanta. Playing host has not distracted Young from the fact that the Hawks expect to see another leap from him after an excellent rookie season:

“I know a lot of people expect us to be a lot better next year,” Young added. “Still, I think our expectations and our goals are higher than most.”

Hawks fan will certainly love to hear everything that Young is saying right now. A lot of guys would be perfectly happy with the season that Young had last year, with the sharpshooter averaging 19.1 points and 8.1 assists per game while shooting 32.4 percent from downtown.

While this 3-point percentage might seem low for someone who was touted as the next Stephen Curry, it's not too bad when you consider Young is consistently pulling up from 30-plus feet.

If the point guard is practicing as hard as he says he is already, the league will be in for a surprise next season.
