At 41 years of age and already in his 20th season in the league, many believe that Atlanta Hawks veteran Vince Carter is just about done in the NBA. However, the eight-time All-Star has no intentions of going quietly into the night, and he intends to put up a fight until the very end.

The former Rookie of the Year winner went straight to the weight room after his team suffered a razor-thin 107-106 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.

Well, this is living proof of why Vince Carter has been around for such a long time. His work ethic is second to none, and while Father Time is quickly catching up to him, his passion for the game burns as strong as ever.

Against the Lakers, Carter played the most minutes (21) out of all the second-string guys on the Hawks' bench. He only had four points, one rebound, and one block to show for it, but he definitely played a part in the evening's proceedings. He even played some stellar defense on LeBron James down the stretch.

Carter received a lot of praise over the summer when he decided to sign with the Hawks — a team that could offer him a bigger role — as opposed to signing with a contender as a bit player. Ring-chasing is not part of Carter's vocabulary, and he is just out to prove he can still ball.

In 13 appearances for the Hawks thus far (including eight starts), Vince Carter is currently putting up 6.8 points on 42.5 percent shooting, 1.3 3-pointers, 2.0 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 18.8 minutes per contest.

Enjoy it while you still can, as this may very well be the Vinsanity farewell tour.
