The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly open to moving one of their young pieces in John Collins in the near future. The 23-year-old forward was initially rumored to being unhappy with the team's offense which primarily revolved around All-Star point guard Trae Young.

However, Atlanta will only be willing to part ways with Collins if they can get a quality asset in exchange for his services.

Via Sam Amick of The Athletic:

“The Hawks have shown a willingness to listen to offers on John Collins. Atlanta has so far sought a high first-round, lottery-level pick if it is to move Collins, sources said.”

The Wake Forest product also declined to sign a $90 million deal with the Hawks back in December as he set his sights on inking a max contract extension worth over $125 million. However, no deal ever came to fruition and Collins continues to play on his rookie contract worth $11 million.

Despite failing to come to terms with the team, Collins still emerged as a key piece for the Hawks' rebuilding efforts this season. He is currently averaging 18.1 points on 54.3% shooting from the field along with 7.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 26 games as a starter.

However, he won't get too many touches in their coming contests, considering Young's ball-dominant playing style. The Hawks also filled up their frontline rotation with Clint Capela along with the selection of rookie Onyeka Okongwu and the acquisition of free-agent Danilo Gallinari.

Collins will only earn over $4 million this season along with a qualifying offer of $5.8 million for next season before becoming a restricted free agent in 2021. The Hawks clearly value John Collins but won't hesitate to part ways with him, given the right package.
