The Miami Heat could get a massive boost in time for Game 7 against the Boston Celtics after Tyler Herro showed signs that he could play. While there are concerns about the sharpshooter's overall health, head coach Erik Spoelstra eased those worries.

Speaking to reporters before the do-or-die showdown, Coach Spo shared how they made the decision to let Herro warm up with the intent to play. According to the Heat coach, the 22-year-old made significant progress and passed all the benchmarks they set to allow him to suit up in the game, via Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Tyler Herro has missed the Heat's last three games due to a lingering groin strain. Miami went 1-2 in those contests, with the absence of Herro dealing a major blow to the team's offense.

Before sitting out to recover, Herro was averaging 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game against Boston. In total throughout the 2022 postseason, he has put up 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists on 41.3 percent shooting.

While Herro has yet to start, he has played a key role in leading the Heat offense off the bench. With his presence, at least jimmy Butler's offensive load will be alleviated a little.

It remains to be seen if the rust will come to haunt Herro, but hopes are high he'll be as impactful as he has ever been as the Heat try to get back to the NBA Finals.
