Philadelphia 76ers forward Jimmy Butler, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, is open to meeting with the Miami Heat if they are interested in signing him.

According to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Buter would be happy to meet with the Heat if they want to talk.

This is certainly an intriguing development in what is expected to be an eventful offseason. Butler is reportedly expected to decline his $19.8 million player option with the Sixers and test the waters of free agency. He is among the notable players whose decision could have an effect on the landscape of the NBA.

It appears the Heat may be looking to shake things up following a disappointing 2018-19 NBA season.

Of course, Miami is hardly the only team interested in acquiring Butler's services, and they will have their work cut out making an appealing pitch.

Rumors indicate that the Sixers will still be doing whatever they can to keep him around, including offering him a max contract. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have also been mentioned as they look to pair Butler up with forward LeBron James. The prospect of playing alongside James in a market like Los Angeles can undoubtedly be appealing to a competitor like himself. Regardless, it will be interesting to see if Miami emerges as a pit-stop on Butler's free agency tour.
