When Kyle Lowry left Game 3 of the Miami Heat-Atlanta Hawks' playoff series, the team called his issue a left leg injury. Apparently, however, that doesn't tell the whole story.

According to Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, Lowry suffered a hamstring injury, though the severity of the issue is unknown.

As Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel mentioned, a hamstring injury is a way different matter that could be a cause for concern for the Heat.

Hamstring injuries, depending on the severity, takes time to recover. One prime example of it is Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, who recently picked up a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Book has already been ruled out for the next two to three weeks, meaning he's already out for the rest of their playoff series with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Considering Kyle Lowry's age and the injury, he could be out for the same amount of time or more if his hamstring problem is serious.

It couldn't have come at the worst possible time for Miami as well. The Hawks won Game 3 of the series via a Trae Young floater, cutting the Heat's series lead to 2-1. Without Lowry, they are missing a trusty and stable floor general who can also defend.

While the Heat have a deep bench unit, Lowry's possible long-term absence could be problematic. Hopefully, though, it isn't as significant as what many fans fear right now.
