Hassan Whiteside, now of the Portland Trail Blazers, sent out a subtle jab to his former team. However, the wife of Meyers Leonard has responded in defense of his husband's new team, the Miami Heat.
On Instagram, Whiteside celebrated his trade to the Blazers and boasted that he will be going to a team with a lot of shooters.
Hassan Whiteside extremely happy with trade news.
“We got shooters… We got shooters. We got shooters. Let’s go!”

Leonard's wife, however, replied with a rebuttal. She posted a clip on Twitter of her knocking down shot after shot while her husband rebounds and passes her the ball. Elle Leonard also captioned it “we got shooters coming to Miami.”

Though his wife seems at ease with the trade to the Heat, Leonard sent out a series of emotional tweets after news broke out.
I became a man in Portland. I married my amazing wife in Portland. I feel that I helped create a culture in this organization that is built to last. I am incredibly thankful for each and every opportunity that has come my way for the last 7 years of my NBA career.

Whiteside, meanwhile, will look to fill in the shoes left by Leonard and Enes Kanter, who signed with the Boston Celtics. As the Blazers' new big man, he'll play alongside the backcourt tandem of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.
Last season with the Heat, the 2016 league leader in blocks saw his role dwindle under Erik Spoelstra. Though he was relatively healthy, Whiteside played 72 games (53 starts) and averaged 23.3 minutes per contest. Whiteside became a liability whenever the opposing team played small-ball which forced Spoelstra to sit him out.
