There's just no way Charlotte Hornets rookie sensation LaMelo Ball is going to be resting on his laurels in the offseason. The 2020-21 campaign has barely ended for Ball and the Hornets, but already, the highly-promising teenager is already thinking about next year.

In his recent exit interview, Ball himself revealed that he's going to be entering the new season with a championship-or-bust mentality:

“You want to go into every year just thinking championship,” Balls said on Thursday, via Jacob Rude of USA TODAY Sports. “because, if not, why are you even playing or what are you even doing? That’s the mindset people have to have.”

Fair point from Ball here. Unfortunately for him, things did not exactly pan out for the Hornets this season. Their season came to an end on Tuesday as they fell to the Indiana Pacers in their play-in game following what was a disappointing performance all around.

Nevertheless, Ball had himself quite a remarkable debut season. He was able to live up to the lofty expectations many had on him prior to the start of the campaign, and perhaps even more. His stellar play allowed him to emerge as the runaway leader for this season's Rookie of the Year crown.

Be that as it may, Ball is all but ready to put his tremendous rookie year behind him. He's already looking forward to what lies ahead, and as it appears, it's going to be a bright future for both LaMelo and his Hornets. At this point, it's hard to deny how Charlotte has found their cornerstone superstar in LaMelo Ball.
