Much has been said about LaMelo Ball's elite passing abilities and supreme vision. For Charlotte Hornets coach James Borrego, who has been working closely with his prized rookie, Ball's terrific decision-making is what he intends to utilize in the upcoming NBA season.

“LaMelo is one of those guys that can generate that type of offense and I’ll put Gordon (Hayward) right in there as well. He’s one of those high level pick and roll players for us. There’s not a whole lot to teach LaMelo right now in the pick and roll. I think he understands spacing, he understands who’s open.”

Given that Ball will be the focal point of the offense, Borrego believes the defenses will key on him. But he's confident that the third overall pick will make the proper adjustments.

“LaMelo is going to have to figure out those coverages but I don’t anticipate he’s going to see something probably that he hasn’t seen before. I think he’s a high-level decision-maker so it’s something that will be a major part of our offense as well.”
