Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball is coming off a fantastic debut season in the NBA where he won Rookie of the Year. It appears that he may have some family around in year two as well. According to Sports Illustrated's Ron Boone, the Hornets are on the brink of signing LiAngelo Ball:

As you can see, LiAngelo would join the Hornets' Summer League squad in Las Vegas next month. This could be the opportunity he needs to make his NBA dreams become a reality.

LiAngelo Ball was passed over in the 2018 NBA Draft but joined Oklahoma City's G-League team in early 2020. However, it was just before the pandemic shut down all basketball activities. Last December, Ball signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Detroit Pistons, but an ankle injury prevented him from ever suiting up for the organization.

While there's still lots of work to be done before he can actually make the Hornets NBA roster, the idea of LiAngelo Ball and LaMelo Ball playing together is definitely awesome. The last time they shared the court was during their time in Lithuania in 2017/18, where the brothers starred on Prienu Vytautas.

Hopefully, LiAngelo can stay healthy this time and make an impact. If so, he could find himself alongside Lonzo and LaMelo in the Association next season.
